I love high and low lights together, as long as it doesnt look strippy like a tiger. Keep the colors in the same family. like not black and blonde. I also reallly like a few red/auburne highlights thrown in there. Only prob is red washes out fast especiallly if you swim in pool.
Cuts are dramatic now, big wedges and chunky layers are hot.
If you have a great cut, it doesnt take a long time to do your hair, it should fall into a cool messy place by finger combing it and hitting it with a dryer.
