I meant this question for men in particular really. Do you instantly go for long hair, as opposed to short? What if the long hair on a girl is in bad condition, would you still be attracted to it or suppose a short style on a girl is in good condition, what then?

I have long hair. I got sick and wanted to cut it shorter my boyfriend got upset. I did not. He loves my long hair. Some of my boyfriends have washed and combed and brushed and even dried my long hair to encourage me. It is very sweet. Personally I think it looks very bad to have torn up long hair. If you have it keep it nice. I know one man wanted his wife to cut her hair, but that was because he was so jealous and did not want men looking at her so much. She was really beautiful and he wanted to take down her beauty a notch. He made some other excuse for it. Now matter what he did she was still beautiful. Yeah men love long hair. One time when I had long hair a man at work was begging me not to cut it because he said most women do not have long hair these days. He is correct women spend a long time on their hair these days, but many women have short masculine styles. I love my long hair. It is very comforting. I am affraid to cut it. It took so long to grow it this time. I have been so sick. I am affraid it will not grow back.

Perhaps it is because my mom was always cutting my hair short because she was a working mom and she was also dressing me in boy clothes because they were hand me downs. I dress so girly. I want to be so feminine because I was denied that as a young girl and I wanted that so much. My boyfriend calls me a girly girl. It really is a break to just be me finally I had control full control for 18 years. I am so glad to be me.

I think both can be very attractive, but like you say, it's also all in the condition of the hair. With longer hair you have more choice of styles so can change your appearance easily. You can't really do that with short hair, unless you just change the colour.
